Best soft serve in Philadelphia with a rotating menu of flavors. Typically there are standard vanilla, chocolate, and twist as well as specialty flavors. Be sure to check instagram for any new flavor rotations or novelties like ice cream sandwiches. The storefront is small, so not a lot of seating and lines can get long during the summer months.
I forgot what ice cream flavor I got but I do remember this being pretty great!! Nice and creamy and not too sweet! The oreo powder cover was also yummy!! Little interior, not really made for people to sit and eat inside, but that's okay!
The last time I came here they were closer to closing and we were turned away, which was a huge bummer, so I was stoked to see the line wasn't so hefty this time. The ice cream flavors themselves were not very appealing to me (most of them involving some form of sweet children's cereal), but after seeing almost everyone around us getting soft-serve with a shell, we decided that was the way to go. Went with the vanilla soft serve and chocolate dip which was really very nice. The perfect amount of creamy with a shell that withstood quite well without breaking apart immediately. I would definitely come back to try the cookie batter dip, as that also looked great. I appreciated that they had a separately line for people who wanted soft serve vs ice-cream, as the line went much quicker that way.
I visited Philly on an unusually warm weekend and we took a nice walk in my friend's neighborhood. Naturally she had to take me to her favorite ice cream spot. Perfect place to go to if you need a sweet treat in Center City! I ordered one of the Oreo flavors and it definitely cured my craving!
It's no surprise that the lines for their locations are out the door...they are that good! You can truly taste the high quality ingredients and unique flavors in each bite - whether that be their soft serve, ice cream, pints, or sandwiches. It is a bit pricey but considering the quality, it's to be expected. Definitely a place I always take any out of town friends/relatives as a MUST when in the city.
1-900-ice cream is the best spot in town for soft serve! Their branding is amazing and I love their social media presence, especially when they highlight the thought and care that occurs from farm to product. The soft serves are delicious with seasonal options and an ever-changing menu. I personally love the classic vanilla ice cream +/- chocolate dip. The dip selections are also incredible and constantly changing and the cake / waffle cones are great. This place is the perfect spot to hit up all dessert needs!
1900 ice cream is my new summer ice cream spot. For starters they have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. They also have their flavors labeled gluten free, vegan, or contains gluten. They are extremely accommodating which is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I went with a group of people and everyone got different flavors. The two that were a huge hit were the dunkaroo flavor and the chocolate with chocolate stracciatella. Each bite we took we wanted more and more. If you are looking to cool off in the summer or are craving ice cream then this is the place for you.
Look at the perfect swirl of the soft serve! The soft serve was rich and creamy with a smooth texture. We were shocked to get 8oz of soft serve for only $6 after we paid extra $0.5 for the waffle cone! Also if you're wondering, it was totally worth it to get the waffle cone. If I ever go back I'll try the coffee cookie dough ice cream that we didn't have enough stomach space to try. * Vanilla Soft Serve with Dark Chocolate Dip My friend ordered this classic combo, simple but delicious. The Valrhona dark chocolate shell was thin and crispy, giving a satisfying crunch as we bit into it. *Turkish Coffee & Donut Twist Soft Serve I was not the only person who was brave enough to order coffee soft serve at late night, as I kept seeing people holding the coffee/donut twist. The Turkish coffee tasted so unique that it didn't taste like any other regular coffee soft serve. It captured a strong and robust flavor. While the donut side was sweeter and helped mellow out the intensity from the coffee.
